Featured Wedding: Bethany + Andrew

Bethany was a Zita Bridal Salon bride who just fell in love with Jaxie. She rocked the Natalia Sash and a custom hairpiece on her big day. Her whimsical dress demanded a statement piece and she definitely picked the right amount of sparkle complimented by a chiffon handmade hairpiece.

Adding a sash to your dress can really personalize the dress to make it your own. To check out Jaxie sashes, visit one of our authorized retailers or shop online: www.shopjaxiebridal.etsy.com

Featured Wedding: Katie + Dax

Photography by: Molly Wood Photography

Katie contacted me a week before her wedding in a panic. She loved all of my pieces but was concerned she wouldn't be able to get a piece shipped to her (in Alaska) in time for her big day. After working everything out for her, she was able to get an in stock piece she absolutely loved! I have never personally met Katie, as she was an Etsy client, but based on how genuine and appreciative she was, I can see what a lucky guy Dax is. It's sweet customers like Katie that make my job totally worth all of the dedication I put behind Jaxie!

"Hi Jackie! I got the piece in the mail yesterday! It's stunning!!! I love it so much! Thank you for being so wonderful and willing to work with me on the shipping, I can't thank you enough. Xoxo. Haha I said I can't thank you enough like 3 times...but it's true :) Seriously that hairpiece tied it all together! I appreciate everything"

Here is a closeup of her fab hairpiece!

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed... Something Blue!

Looking for shoes for your big day can often be daunting. You have gone to all of the local stores, department stores and discount stores and have come up empty handed. Here are some of my fave blue shoes from various websites. I have picked shoes with all heel heights and price tags... from affordable to dream worthy. I had to toss in Carrie Bradshaw's famous Blue Manolo Wedding Shoes from the Sex and The City movie. A girl can dream, can't she? #classics

One of my FAVORITE sites I recommend to all of my clients is Polyvore.com. Polyvore searches the web for you based on your criteria.
Choose from price, color, brand, type of shoe and much more. They even have an "on sale" option. What more could a girl ask for!

Happy shopping!

Featured Wedding: Megan & David

Megan and I have known each other since she transferred into my middle school. We easily became friends and never lost contact over the years of moving to different states. So naturally when she got engaged, she said she HAD to have Jaxie be a part of her big day.

Megan began describing her look as old hollywood glam. I knew right away the piece I wanted her to wear to complete her look. Her dress was a nice shade of champagne and her bridesmaids were able to pick out their own black dresses. The bridesmaids and flower girls also had a hint of Jaxie with floral hair adornments. Megan and David's wedding took place at the magical Crystal Ballroom in Portland, OR. Check out the video below:

After the wedding, Megan's friend, Farron was married and borrowed Megan's hairpiece as her "Something Borrowed" for her destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas... LOVE.

Featured Wedding: Mary Ann + Jason

I first heard of Mary Ann & Jason's story through an organization I was asked to be a part of by founder of The Wedding Rescue Team, John Salkowsky. The Wedding Rescue Team is a group of vendors donating time/services to couples affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Here is a little more info about what the team is about:
“Hurricane Sandy has taken a tremendous toll on the Tri-State area and the recovery efforts may take many months. We want to help a couple that may not have the time, resources or finances to plan their wedding while recovering from the storm.  A wedding is the most important day of a couple’s life, to be able to relieve some of the stress is what this team is all about. We want to give something back and allow the winning couple to enjoy the planning process while relieving the financial strain” - John Salkowsky, Founder, Silverfox Studios.

When John asked me to be a member, I instantly said yes. As I began to read submission after submission, my heart sank, wishing I could help every couple. After many rounds of finalists, Mary Ann & Jason were the lucky recipients of a wedding valued over $27,000. How fabulous is that?!?

Mary Ann was SO incredibly grateful throughout our communication and looked absolutely STUNNING on their big day. So well deserved. Wishing them a lifetime of continued strength and love.

Check out the video below & grab a Kleenex... you will need it!

Featured Wedding: Clare + Kevin

I first met Kevin when I was 15 years old at Pius XI High School. As the years passed, Clare came into his life and brightened up any room she walked into. Anyone who met her, can honestly say, she is one of THE nicest, happiest people you will meet. When you think of Clare, you think of her smile.

As she began to plan her dream destination wedding, she contacted me to finalize her accessories. She knew she wanted the glam look of a birdcage veil and a hairpiece to match. Having a destination wedding doesn't mean you have to be pigeonholed into a certain "beachy" look. It is your one day to shine, so take advantage of it! Clare did just that, her bridal style was on point and she looked beyond amazing. Check out Clare and Kevin's Puerto Vallarta wedding...

Featured Vendor: Events to a T

Planning a wedding can be exhausting. I have many friends that say, "After my wedding is over, I have NO idea what I am going to do with all of my spare time."

So when my sister was starting to plan her wedding, I had no doubt in my mind for the PERFECT gift for her... A wedding planner! I immediately called up Tiara from Events to a T and we started concepting. Of course with my creativity, I had to have my hand in SOME of the decisions. All the while reminding myself, This is NOT my wedding, This is NOT my wedding.

When I realized it was time to plan the bridal shower, I came to Tiara and said... Listen I am thinking Alice & Wonderland but just a subtle touch. This is what we dreamed up at the fabulous Villa Filomena in downtown Milwaukee...It first started with my brilliant idea of blindfolding the Bride to Be, She wasn't too happy about that. But once she opened her eyes, there was no denying the secret was well worth it!
